The personnel policy at the Association is exercised in the following directions:
B selection and appointment of personnel, B development of a unified set of the personnel management principles for all structural divisions of the Association,
- raising the level of managerial staffs skill,
- personnel training,
- survey of business and personal qualities of the managerial staff and specialists,
- training personnel reserve,
- training young specialists.
Employees of PA "Urengoigasprom" raise their skill attending courses at Training Centres of Russian Universities and enterprises. Seminars for managerial staff and specialists with guest lecturers from Moscow are held at the Urengoi Business and Training Centre.
Some of the Association's leading specialists graduated from an affiliate of Tyumen University of Oil and
Gas. The affiliate is the first higher educational institution in Yamal. It was built and equipped by Urengoigasprom. About 300 students a year study at its departments.
On March 2, 1982 the Novy Urengoi College of Gas Industry was established as a division of the Production Association. Nowadays it is an independent and the only institution which provides middle level personnel training for gas sector in this region. Up to 1200 students study at the college annually. Workers are mainly trained at the Personnel Training Centre of the Association. More than two thousand workers raise their qualification and acquire a second profession there.
